TTP Labtech’s 43% increase in revenues in 2013/14 and the further anticipated expansion of the business over the next fiscal year has led to the creation of a new role of an operations director.
Jas Sanghera, managing director at TTP Labtech remarked that, “TTP Labtech has grown, and is expected to grow in the next few years, manufacturing an increased number of existing products alongside the continued development of new innovative products. It is essential we have seamless integration of development, manufacturing and support and still maintain our reputation for outstanding quality and customer service. We hope that this new position will provide the resource to do this effectively.”
With a Manufacturing Engineering degree at Cambridge University, UK and a MBA from Bradford, UK, Simon McCaskie has been appointed into the new role of operations director at TTP Labtech. Simon has had extensive experience of working in manufacturing and operations over the past 30 years, building a wealth of knowledge and understanding about highly technical and innovated products similar to those at TTP Labtech.
In his previous role as Operations Director at Malvern Instruments (part of Spectris PLC), UK, he was responsible for the operations of this rapidly expanding business. Malvern Instruments provides instrumentation for the analysis of a wide variety of materials, having built on a long-established reputation for innovation in particle characterisation technology. It is now a world leading materials and biophysical characterisation company with a strong presence in the Far East which has grown consistently over the past 10 years both organically and through global acquisitions.
Simon commented, “I am very excited about this new position at TTP Labtech. I started at Malvern instruments at a similar stage in the development of the business and have the experience of adopting new processes and new ways of working to help sustain business growth that I think will be very relevant to TTP Labtech. I am also excited about working for an employee-owned business (EOB) as reports show that EOB’s, particularly in knowledge and skill-intensive sectors such as TTP Labtech, outperform competitors.”
Jas added, “We are pleased to be in a position to appoint an operations director and we feel Simon’s experience complements our needs very well. We are hopeful that with Simon’s help TTP Labtech will continue to grow into an efficient and successful global manufacturing business in life sciences.
