Kieran Murphy
Chairperson
Kieran brings decades of corporate leadership experience in life sciences and healthcare, most notably at GE Healthcare and GE Life Sciences, where as president, he oversaw its emergence as a market leader in the bioprocessing industry.
As an experienced CEO, he has successfully driven value growth in a number of venture capital-owned and publicly listed small and mid-size companies.
Kieran also sits on the Board of Directors at Gamma Biosciences as Executive Chairman
Michael Bauer
Board Member & EQT Representative
Having joined EQT Partners in 2009, Michael is Head of the Private Equity team and Global Co-Head of EQT’s Healthcare Sector team. EQT invests in companies globally, combining financial discipline with industrial expertise to driving the process of change and repositioning.
He brings a wealth of experience to the SPT Labtech Board, specializing in strategic development, corporate finance and leveraged buyouts. Michael also a Member of the Supervisory Board at both Cerba HealthCare and Galderma, and is a Member of the Advisory Board at Lima Corporate.
Anne Thoburn
Board Member
In addition to her role as Non-Executive Director, Anne is also Chair of SPT Labtech’s Audit Committee. She also currently occupies similar roles at TT Electronics PLC and Diploma PLC.
Anne has many years of experience in board-level finance roles, including in the life sciences and industries, with expertise in financial management, risk, audit and M&A.
Previously, Anne held the position of Chief Financial Officer at Exova Group (now part of Element Materials Technology), one of the world’s leading global providers of testing, inspection and certification services for a diverse range of products and materials in advanced industry supply chains.
Jesse Feldman
Board Member & Battery Ventures Representative
Jesse is a Partner at Battery, a global technology-based investment firm with focused expertise in business development, growth and leadership, branding and communication, and recruiting. Jesse leads Battery’s industrial-technology practice and has extensive expertise working with business across North America and Europe.
Prior to Battery, Jesse spent several years with Ionian Management and was a founding member of Ionian Ventures, a specialized fund dedicated to transportation and logistics technology companies. Whilst there, he also worked on a range of private equity transactions, collaborating closely with portfolio management teams to design and execute growth strategies.
Paula Dowdy
Board Member
Paula is a senior executive, having spent over 30 years across the life sciences, enterprise software and technology industries. She is also an advisor at EQT Life Sciences, one of Europe’s leading investors targeting innovative life sciences and healthcare.
Paula’s previous roles have included SVP and General Manager at Illumina and Cisco Systems. Whilst at Illumina, she more than doubled the EMEA business to over 1 billion in revenue. She was also instrumental in the creation of the Cambridge-based Illumina Accelerator.
Paula continues to leverage her global commercial experience to support companies as they scale and drive high growth.
Robert Friel
Board Member
Robert spent 21 years at PerkinElmer, where he served as Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President. During that time, Robert was one of the primary architects of the company’s transformation into a global technology leader, focused on improving the health and safety of people and the environment.
Prior to PerkinElmer, Robert held several global financial executive positions, including Vice President and Treasurer at AlliedSignal, a leading manufacturer of aerospace systems and components (now Honey International, Inc.).
Robert is also an Independent Chairperson at Xylem
Roland Diggelmann
Board Member
Roland is former Chief Executive Officer at Smith & Nephew, a leading portfolio medical technology company, operating in over 100 countries globally. He has extensive experience in the medical device industry and is a proven leader with a successful record of growing companies and increasing shareholder value.
Previously Roland spent 10 years at Roche, were he held senior executive roles in the company’s diagnostics division, firstly as Chief Operational Officer, before becoming Chief Executive Officer.
