Our team of experts will be showcasing our portfolio of low volume liquid handlers for assay miniaturization like the mosquito HV for genomics applications. Don't compromise on experimental quality due to NGS library cost. Several studies have demonstrated that increasing biological replicates significantly improves experimental power. Library preparation cost has become a bottleneck for sample throughput, leading to underpowered experiments in many cases. Miniaturization of reaction volumes can lead to dramatic cost savings, however conventional liquid handling platforms generally lack the necessary accuracy and precision for transferring low volumes of reagents.
This poster shows how scientists at MIT’s BioMicro Center core facility have overcome these limitations. Using a mosquito® liquid hander, they were able to reduce library preparation cost for Illumina® sequencing between 5-fold and 10-fold: demonstrated with market-leading kits, e.g. Nextera XT, NEBNext® Ultra II both RNA and DNA library production intact and fragmented samples.
We'll also be showcasing the innovative, low volume liquid handler that can significantly reduce assay development time and greatly improve assay robustness in screening, dragonfly discovery. The challenges associated with validating and transferring assays into HTS are well known bottlenecks in the drug discovery process. dragonfly discovery gives scientists a common platform whereby they can easily develop complex assays, validate and screen them in a reliable, robust and cost efficient manner.
This poster reviews the combination of Design of Experiment (DoE) and dragonfly® discovery to demonstrate that it is possible to reduce assay development cycles times, in addition to removing well known assay bottlenecks associated with the transfer of subsequent assays into high throughput screening.
