In this on demand webinar, we discuss Scaling Down and Powering Up, Driving Efficiency in Medicinal Chemistry Through Miniaturization with Matthias Schmid, Senior Scientist Medicinal Chemistry Technologies from Boehringer Ingelheim and Cory Tiller, Product Manager at SPT Labtech.
This webinar explores how micro-scale synthesis is transforming Medicinal Chemistry workflows. By miniaturizing reactions, laboratories can reduce material usage, optimize compound storage, and introduce more automation-friendly processes that improve efficiency and scalability.
In this session, you’ll hear how this transformation began at Boehringer Ingelheim, the operational efficiencies achieved through micro-scale adoption, how automation platforms and storage solutions were evaluated and selected, and what the roadmap looks like for scaling to meet future demands.
Discover how thoughtful integration of synthesis, purification, storage, and data management can unlock a more agile and future-ready compound management strategy.
Matthias Schmid is a Senior Scientist Medicinal Chemistry Technologies at Boehringer-Ingelheim. Matthias is an organic chemist with a strong focus on automation and novel technology implementation in medicinal chemistry. With a background of organic chemistry and chemical engineering he aims to optimize parallel synthesis and screening workflows related to medicinal chemistry projects within Boehringer-Ingelheim. With also an private interest in 3D printing, CAD-design, and basic programming he aims for fast prototyping and then building up robust future-proof workflows.
Cory Tiller – Product Manager at SPT Labtech, Cory is an automation enthusiast with over 12 years of experience in the life sciences industry. Most of his career has been in various laboratory settings, from high throughput blood testing to next gen sequencing, with roles from clinical technologist to manufacturing engineer. His interest in process brought him to appreciate and learn more about laboratory automation and his passion in managing cross-departmental projects brought him to product management.
