Lab2lab system control - 3.1 Pneumatic transport system

The building’s air supply is used by all lab2lab transport devices. The incoming air is regulated to approximately 6 bar. The pneumatic transport network is centered on the Router: all vial transportation is either to or from the Router.

The Router has an internal air pressure sensor which will raise an error if the air supply drops significantly. The Router detects the arrival of vials with a vacuum sensor. All other devices detect the presence or absence of vials using optical sensors.
