Lab2lab overview - 3.2 Pneumatic transport system

The pneumatic transport network is centered on the Router: all vial transportation is either to or from it. The building’s air supply is used by all lab2lab transport devices. The incoming air is regulated to approximately 6bar: the Router has an internal air pressure sensor which will raise an error if the air supply drops significantly.

The Router detects the arrival of vials with a vacuum sensor. All other devices detect the presence or absence of vials using optical sensors.
