firefly requires instrument-specific tips, syringes and reservoirs for correct operation. You must always use the correct consumables, which are available from SPT Labtech.
firefly is supplied with a starter kit containing:
- 1 x Std Reservoirs (pack of 50)
- 1 x LDV Reservoirs (pack of 25)
- 1 x Standard Syringes (pack of 10)
- 1 x ULR Syringes (pack of 10)
- 2 x Racks of 125µL 384 Filter Tips
- 2 x Racks of 125µL 96 Filter Tips
- 2 x Racks of 50µL 384 Filter Tips
- 2 x Racks of 50µL 96 Filter Tips
Disposable pipetting tips are available in a variety of sizes for working with different plate types.
Note that a filtered version has a lower capacity because the filter takes up sapce (i.e. 125µl filtered is actually 100µl. 50µl filtered is actually 35µl).
