Syringes
Dispensing syringes are available in one size only, which is suitable for use with all plate formats.
Ultra Low Retention (ULR) syringes feature an external hydrophobic/ oleophobic coating to
dispense concentrated detergent and protein solutions, or genomics Master Mixes. All syringes
are disposable.

Reservoirs
Reservoirs are available in two sizes: standard and low dead volume (LDV). Reservoirs are
disposable but can be washed after use to allow a number of re-uses if you wish.
Standard reservoirs have 10 mL capacity and fill level indicators for 5 mL and 10 mL. The dead
volume is 200μL, which is recoverable.
Low dead volume reservoirs have 1.5 mL capacity and 30μL recoverable dead volume.

For larger reagent volumes e.g. buffers, you can use Auto-Feed Reservoirs (AFRs) which supply
syringes directly from a reagent bottle.

Plates
dragonfly discovery works with any of the plates listed in the dropdown on the Experiment
Overview screen. These plates have defined Plate Types, which contain the dimensional data to
enable the dragonfly head to dispense correctly into the wells.
NOTE: do not attempt to use a plate which does not appear in the dropdown list.
If you need to use an unlisted plate, first use the Plate Editor function to create a Plate Type for it.
You may need to use an adaptor plate, with shallow plates.
