Placing a rack on the instrument
The Scan is compatible with both SBS format cryoracks and standard cryoboxes.
For SBS format:
- For SBS format racks, place SBS adapter pictured above in the corresponding grooves on the Scan unit. The clipped corners on the adapter will match up with the Scan unit to ensure placement is correct. Note, the side with “A1” etched in the adapter needs to face up.
- Place an SBS format rack in the grooves on the adapter with “A1” of the sample rack in the corner marked “A1” on the adapter.
- Now samples are ready to scan!
For Cryoboxes:
- To pick the right adapter for the expected sample racks, one can either measure the bottom of square sample cryobox or test the sample cryobox to see which is a smooth fit.
- After finding the right adapter for the sample cryobox, place the adapter in the corresponding grooves on the Scan unit. The clipped corners on the adapter will match up with the Scan unit to ensure placement is correct. Note, the side with “A1” etched in the adapter needs to face up.
- Place the sample cryobox in the grooves on the adapter with “A1” of the sample cryobox in the corner marked “A1” on the adapter.
- Now samples are ready to scan!
Important note: Limitations - Some cryoboxes are manufactured larger or smaller than our inserts allow. It is important to measure the dimensions of your labware to ensure compatibility.
