Storing the Scan

Storing the Scan with side rack barcode reader (optional):

  1. Unplug the reader from the Scan unit.
  2. To detach the side rack barcode reader, remove the screws holding the reader to the Scan unit. These should be two long screws.
  3. Place the side reader and two long screws in a plastic sleeve (or cellophane). Place the wrapped reader gently into the internal cavity of the reader. Place the cable in as well.

Storing the Scan unit:

  1. Turn off the Scan unit by turning the switch on the instrument to the off position (O).
  2. Unplug the USB3.0 cable from the host PC and the power cable from the outlet.
  3. Unplug the USB3.0 cable and the power cable from the Scan instrument. Wrap these up and set aside.
  4. Place the Scan unit in the shipping box in the main open space. It should fit snuggly.
  5. You may place the cables inside the main cavity but wrap the metal ends to avoid scratching the glass at the bottom of the Scan.
  6. Wrap the extra rack adapters with cellophane or place in a plastic sleeve. Place on top of the unit.
  7. Seal the box with packing tape.
  8. The unit should be stored in a regular temperature-controlled environment.

Note: The unit would also be ready for shipping in this case.

Relocating the Scan

For short distance moves, ensure unplug the Scan cables and carefully move the instrument to desired location. For movement between rooms or buildings, a cart is recommended.

For long distance moves, box the instrument in the original packaging by referring to “Storing the Scan” above and unpackage at desired location using “Instrument Hardware Setup” section as a guide.
